Their cream based Artistic Toners are progressive, meaning the longer they process, the deeper the tone becomes. This allows full control over the final result, making them perfect for bleach and tone services as well as grey blending techniques.

Because they are alkaline, Artistic Toners gently lift the hair while toning, eliminating unwanted warmth, unevenness, or banding from the lightening process. This also means they last longer compared to acidic toners.

With three core shades, Cool Blonde, Silver, and Violet, you can use them individually or mix them to create custom tones for your clients. Whether you're neutralizing yellow tones or achieving a perfect metallic finish, these toners provide ultimate versatility.

Bonder & Hydration

Each Artistic Toner is infused with a bond-building complex to strengthen the hair during the toning process. Additionally, nourishing ingredients like aloe vera, jojoba oil, and chia oil help hydrate and protect color from fading.

What does progressive color mean? +
Progressive color means the longer you leave the color on the hair, the deeper the tone will be. For example, if you let it process for 5 minutes, it will be a lighter tone than if you let it process for 20 minutes.
Are Danger Jones Artistic Toners alkaline? +
Yes, they’re alkaline. This helps to create a progressive color deposit to give artists total control over the shade and depth of the end result. The alkaline pH also aids in color longevity and evening out any banding.
When should I use an Artistic Toner? +
Artistic Toners are perfect to use for a bleach and tone color service. You can also use them for certain grey blending techniques. Reach for our Gloss Toners when you want to maintain dimension, and our Artistic Toners for all over bleach and tone services.
Can I mix the Artistic Toner colors together to create a different tone? +
Yes, you can mix our Artistic Toner colors together to make different tones.
Why do the instructions give an option of different mixing ratios? 1:2 to 1:3 +
The standard mixing ratio is 1 part Artistic Toner to 2 parts 5 volume (1.5%) Deluxe Cream Developer. If you prefer a softer color deposit, you could change the ratio to 1:3. You’re in control.
Can I use a different developer and volume to mix? +
We don’t recommend it. Our Artistic Toners were designed to be mixed with our 5 Volume (1.5%) Deluxe Cream Developer to give the best consistency, application and color deposit.
Do I need to shampoo the Gloss Toners out of the hair after processing? +
Yes, since the Artistic Toners are oxidative, you shampoo them out.
Can I mix the Artistic Toners with the Gloss Toners? +
No. Our Artistic Toners have an alkaline pH and our Gloss Toners have an acidic pH. This means the two different pH’s are not compatible and can have negative results if mixed together. Only mix Artistic Toner colors together for custom color creations.
Can I apply the Artistic Toners on top of Danger Jones semi-permanent colors? +
No. If you also use our semi-permanent colors, tone with our Artistic Toner first, shampoo, and then apply the semi-permanent color.
What makes our Artistic Toners different from other cream rapid toners? +
